Scott Stephens

Scott Stephens is a photovoltaic technology manager for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Program. At the DOE, he oversees the scoping, evaluation, and implementation of technology development grants. Currently the Solar program's PV portfolio includes over 100 industry and university-led PV projects with total funding of over $100M per year. Prior to working with the DOE, Mr. Stephens worked for the U.S. Patent Office examining applications pertaining to optical systems including solar concentrating systems. He holds a M.S. in physics from the University of Delaware where he characterized the optical properties of PV thin films at the Institute of Energy Conversion and a B.A. in physics from Gustavus Adolphus College.
